Di dalam ilmu geometri terdapat kata garis vertikal dan horizontal. Istilah ini dipakai juga pada bidang eksplorasi, jelasnya Vertical Seismic Profiling (VSP) dan Horizontal Seismic Profiling. Pada naskah berikut, penulis akan menjelaskan apa sebenarnya VSP dan apa perbedaannya dengan HSP, manfaat serta limitasinya. Sebagai negara yang tahap penelitian dan teknik manufacturingnya sudah begitu tinggi. Di negara ini selalu tersedia sarana untuk bidang penelitian.
