Abstrak

Unit batuan yang diteliti adalah elemen petroleum system yang penting di wilayah Papua dan sekitarnya. Tujuan penulisan ini adalah untuk menyusun kerangka stratigrafi sikuen batuan sedimen berumur Jura–Kapur di wilayahPapua. Selanjutnya, hasil dari kerangka stratigrafi sikuen akan digunakan untuk mendeteksi batuan sumber hidrokarbon potensial. Dua lintasan singkapan batuan Jura–Kapur yang diteliti adalah: 1. Tembagapura–Grassberg dan 2. Wamena dan sekitarnya. Dua data sumur (Koba-1 dan Barakan-1) digunakan untuk mengkonfi rmasi model kerangka stratigrafi sikuen yang dihasilkan dari data analogi geologi permukaan. Dua siklus Transgressive–Regressive (T-R; Sikuen 1 dan 2) di batuan sedimen berumur Jura–Kapur teridentifi kasi di wilayah studi baik disingkapan permukaan maupun di data sumur. Sikuen 1 terdiri dari: Transgressive systems tract-1 (TST-1) pada Formasi Kopai bagian bawah dan Regressive systems tract-1 (RST-1) pada Formasi Kopai bagian atas. Sikuen 2 terdiri dari: TST-2 pada Formasi Woniwogi sampai Formasi Piniya bagian bawah dan RST-2 pada Formasi Piniya bagian atas sampai Formasi Ekmai. Dua Maximum Flooding Surface (MFS) yang diidentifi kasi adalah MFS-1 pada Formasi Kopai dan MFS-2 pada Formasi Piniya. Dua MFS ini dapat digunakan sebagai horizon korelasi regional dan sebagai batuan sumber hidrokarbon potensial.
